Chip’s Jack Machine in your pocket!

Tuesday House Focus | August 26-September 1, 2026 - Today we focus on quality house and deep house in support of the station's core house music streaming. Deeper Shades of House is on today at 8a and 8p PST! Check Lars out - always quality!

// CULTURE & CONTEXT

Chip E - Put the Jack Machine in Your Pocket

Chip E coined "jack" and "house" on the 1984 Jack Trax EP. On August 29 he put Chip's Jack Machine on the App Store, the same day he played Pritzker Pavilion. It is not a sample pack with a sequencer bolted on. Fifteen of the sixteen voices are synthesized live - kick, snare, toms, clap, hats, cowbell, rim, maracas, congas, claves, cymbal - so the knobs reshape the sound instead of filtering a recording. Four scenes, 8/16/32 steps, swing, accent, MIDI in, and a WAX ON function that writes a drum loop onto the grid. No account. No ads. No subscription. Ninety-nine cents for the first two weeks, then $4.99. He said it plainly: nobody handed Chicago an instrument for this music. They found one and bent it. This is that machine, built by somebody who was in the room. Still Music also has the first of three Architect of House archival compilations dated for September. Play the records. Use the box if it earns a place next to the 808.

House Music Is Already Inside GTA VI

Rockstar dropped a 26-minute Extended Look for Grand Theft Auto VI on Netflix on August 27, then on YouTube. The montage closes on house: Aluna and Jayda G's Mine O' Mine, then Elderbrook and Bob Moses' Inner Light. That is not background color. That is the last thing they wanted you to hear. CircoLoco Records - the label Rockstar built with Ibiza's DC-10 party in 2021 - now appears as CircoLoco Records Radio on leaked station lists from an unfinished build. Rockstar has not confirmed the dial. The trailer music is official. The partnership is five years old and already has Skream, Prospa, ANOTR, and Sparrow & Barbossa on the catalogue. If the station survives to November 19, a generation that never stood in a DC-10 terrace will learn the music from a stolen car in Leonida. Treat the official tracks as the story. Leave the leak in the footnote.

BASEMENT Banned the Glasses

New York's BASEMENT, under the Knockdown Center in Queens, posted August 27 that smart glasses are out. Wear them or carry them in a bag and you leave. Repeat it and you may not come back. Mixmag carried the policy September 1. The room already runs no photo, no video, no phone on the floor, no glowing clothes, no balaclava. Meta Ray-Bans and the rest of that class record without a raised arm. That is the point. The policy is not a vibe lecture. It is a door rule written because a camera in a frame is still a camera. Other rooms will copy it or pretend they do not have the problem. If you program house in a dark room, this is the practical note of the week.

House Releases of the Day

DJ Octopuz - So Deep (Deeper Shades Recordings). Out today, September 1. Original, instrumental, and the Lars Behrenroth Dub. Bloemfontein producer, first single on the label that feeds Tuesday nights here. Mastered by Herb LF. Play the dub if you want the room to sit down and listen. Bandcamp is live.

VA - Four To The Floor 52 (Diynamic). Out August 28. Magdalena - Tell Me How You Want It, Rem Siman and Juan Brizuela - Possibility, Alexey Union and Luciano Scalioni - Don't You Know, ZARE - Mjoozik. Station-default label, fifty-second chapter. Load Possibility first if you need the long one.

// HOUSE ESSENTIALS

HOUSE - Quality house and deep house form the default streaming sound of Robtronik.FM. From deep and soulful to tech-tinged and classic, this is the music bed of the station, all day, every day. Tuesdays also feature Deeper Shades of House (Lars Behrenroth) at 8a and 8p PST.

News

DJ Octopuz's So Deep - Lars posted the premiere August 24 and the Bandcamp link weeks earlier. Deeper Shades Of House #964 went up August 28 with a guest mix from Tasha Deep House Hun. That is the show this brief is built to feed. Do not bury the label record under a chart recap.

Maceo Plex - Monster EP is the Rekids jam. Digital landed August 28. Flute Jam, Baby Monster with Baby Monsta, Cold Flow. Vinyl is dated September 14 (REKIDS296). First Plex package on Radio Slave's imprint. He has been road-testing it. Play Flute Jam if the room needs to lean forward. This does not replace Octopuz - it sits next to it.

Ultra Naté Is Back on the Chart Sheet

Time To House flagged it August 29. HUGEL, Imael Angel, and Ultra Naté's Movin' To The Sun has been sitting at the top of Beatport and on the US Mediabase dance radio chart. The single came out in May on Make The Girls Dance. The useful fact this week is the second life: a 1997 voice on a 2026 floor record that radio and the download chart both recognized. Play the extended if you need six minutes instead of the radio edit.

Robag Wruhme - Fumaxohn landed August 21 on Cocoon (COR12183). Station-default label. Support list already runs Dixon, Sasha via Steve Parry, Ilario Alicante, Karotte. If you missed it under last week's civic headlines, it is still the Cocoon 12-inch of the late-August bag.

Alphadog - Rockstar targeted for Friday, September 4 on Diynamic. Boogie Up instrumental is already on Beatport. Mark it before the newsletter does.

// Worth Your Time

Deeper Shades Of House #964. Lars in hour one, Tasha Deep House Hun in hour two. Posted August 28. The weekly reference, not a clip.

Leon Vynehall - Live at The Lot Radio, August 25. 56 minutes. House and tech house at a selector's pace. Still the cleanest named Lot hour in this window if you missed Monday.

Dee Diggs - House of Diggs: Late Summer Cooldown at The Lot Radio. Staff-pick hour from the current Lot slate. Soulful house from the same Brooklyn container.

Stacey Pullen - Live at The Lot Radio, August 15. Detroit through a Greenpoint booth. Older than five days, still the right contrast if you want house that does not chase the chart.

Four To The Floor 52. Full four-track package on the Diynamic Bandcamp. Magdalena first if you only have one pass.

Maceo Plex - Monster EP. Rekids Bandcamp and the shops. Flute Jam, then Cold Flow.
