// CULTURE & CONTEXT

Feed the Block Returns to Downtown Las Vegas in October

The free outdoor EDM block party series Feed the Block is coming back to Fremont East in early October 2026. Previous editions have drawn thousands with headliners including Marshmello, Diplo, Major Lazer and Gryffin, staged from the Forest House Art Car at the corner of 6th and Fremont. Organizers cite the extreme summer heat as the reason for the cooler-month schedule. Exact October lineup details are still emerging, but the series has already proven it can turn a downtown intersection into a proper free festival.

Seen Live App Launches as “Letterboxd for Clubbing”

A new app called Seen Live has arrived, letting users rate DJ sets, festivals, live shows and nights out after the fact. Founded by Jordan Taylor of Tough Luck, it functions as a personal live music archive where people log events, upload photos and videos, follow friends, and discover artists through other people’s reviews. Mixmag framed it as a dedicated platform for documenting nightlife culture. DJs are now subject to star ratings in a way that feels both inevitable and slightly unnerving for the scene.

¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U Drops 100% The Prodigy Mix on NTS Ahead of Warrior’s Dance Dates

Japanese DJ ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U recorded a one-hour tribute mix dedicated entirely to The Prodigy for NTS Radio. The mix, which aired 14 August, pulls classics like Firestarter, Breathe, Voodoo People and No Good (Start The Dance) alongside deeper cuts such as Girls, Timebomb and Mindfields. It lands just before he joins The Prodigy, Carl Cox, Andy C and David Rodigan for the UK Warrior’s Dance shows, starting at The National Bowl in Milton Keynes on 22 August with further dates in Edinburgh and Manchester. Full mix is up on the NTS site and SoundCloud.

Maceo Plex Releases Free 2013 Nightcall Edit in Tribute to Kavinsky

Following the late-July passing of Kavinsky, Maceo Plex has made available for free the club-oriented remix/edit of Nightcall he produced back in 2013. In a note accompanying the release he expressed condolences to Kavinsky’s family and friends and offered to take the track down if requested. The edit gives DJs a more dancefloor-ready version of the iconic Drive soundtrack track while keeping the original’s atmosphere intact.
