Most Labor Day DJs play the hits you already know are coming. Pat SL does not work that way.

Five hours at Jive Turkey. Funk that actually swings. Rock that still has a backbone. 80s records chosen because they move a room, not because they trend. Disco that stays on the floor instead of winking at it. This is a selector who has been mixing live since 1992 — house warehouses, Spundae nights, long Vegas residencies — and the point of this booking is the other half of the crate. The records that sit next to the 12-inches. The ones that make a Saturday feel like a Saturday.

Pat SL holds a set. Four hours, eight hours, the kind of stretch where the room changes temperature and nobody checks the time because the next record is already better than the last one. No sync.
